Aleksia Update

Friday, October 16, 2009

She is getting so big and so clever. Not to mention wanting to be so independent. She is still a pretty good girl though. Her hair is getting long and she is just looking so much older.

The other day she decided she wanted to give herself a haircut, right on top, why is it always right on top and in the front? It's really not that bad, I can cover it up but still.

She is looking forward to being Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. My mom is making her costume and so far it's adorable. I can't wait to take pictures of her in it.

Aleksia loves to color and draw and is getting really good and writing some of her letters, I am so proud of her. She is also really good at drawing faces, it's so cute cause she even draws in mustaches and beards on men who have them.

I just love my little girl she makes me laugh everyday and is always wanting to give hugs and kisses.

14 weeks

I'm officially in my 2nd trimester. YAY! My morning sickness is pretty much gone aside from right when I wake up, but if I sit through it a bit then it goes away for the rest of the day, SO glad about that. Still not feeling any movement or anything but I am getting a little tummy (will post pic tomorrow).

Aleksia just love the idea of a baby being in my belly, she is always kissing and hugging my belly and saying that she loves the baby. It is so dang cute.

21 more days until we find out the gender. :)

(picture taken at 12 weeks)

Had my routine prenatal appt. today. All is good. I am down 12 lbs but they aren't worried. Baby's heart rate was 160 and everything is looking good. I did have a bladder infection again, so a week more of antibiotics. I also got my anti-nausea meds. refilled. Good thing though, I only have to take one in the morning now and I am good all day. I am also eating more so I am sure I'll be gaining weight soon. I go back in on 11/20 for another checkup.

Oh, exciting news. I scheduled my 3d gender check for 11/6, it will be here before we know it. I can't wait to know what it is, I am dying to SHOP and plan.

NT Scan

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Had my NT scan today (Nuchal Translucency) to check for markers of Downs Syndrome. All was good. I have to have some blood work today to get my ratios but I'm not really worried.

The fold measured 1.8 and the little bug's heartbeat was 158 BPM. The baby was measuring 12 weeks 6 days (I was 12 weeks 3 days according to my LMP). She was moving and jumping all around, it was so cute. She kept crunching her legs up and kicking them out and she also crossed her ankles it was so cute. She kept waving too.

Yes, I said SHE. The tech was pretty sure it is a GIRL, however it is still early so I will believe it at my gender scan on the 6th of Nov., I'll be 17 weeks then.

Here are some pictures of my little Bug.

Friday, October 2, 2009

I'm so excited. I love that it's starting to cool off. I am also really excited for Halloween, I just love Halloween. We are going to decorate this weekend.

I have 2 appointments this next week, one is an ultrasound. I am excited to see this little bug again. Another exciting thing, I totally felt the bug move, little tiny flickers. It's so neat, I can't wait until it gets stronger.

Front Yard

Saturday, August 15, 2009

I am so excited. Our yards will be getting new sod on Monday. The landscaper was here on Friday prepping everything, tearing out nasty bushes and tilling the dirt. The sod will be delivered Monday morning and then Dan (the landscaper) will be installing it mid morning. I am so excited cause I will have a few little flower beds to dress up as well. Aleksia LOVES going in the flower parts of stores and it will be so much fun having her pick out some pretty flowers.

Fun weekend

It was so nice visiting with Uncle Marshall and it was so nice to meet his new girlfriend, Selena. On Saturday we went to Uncle Matt's going away party and that night we just hung out. Sunday we went over to Marshall's mom's house and had another BBQ there. Aleksia had fun playing with Marshall's nephews. On Monday we went out to lunch at Thai Cafe and then went and visited Baby Jersey. I love fun filled weekends, to bad they go by so fast.

Ear Peircing

Sunday, July 26, 2009

Sunday, July 26, 2009

My baby girl got her ears pierced today. She did so good, only cried right after they did it and as soon as they gave her a lollipop she was all good. She was given the choice of getting her ears done or a build-a-bear for sleeping in her big girl bed with no problems for one week and she chose her ears. She just loves them and loves to show them off to everyone. She gets all excited again when she remembers that she has them, it's really cute.

Here is my brave girl.

Floors!!!

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

I know I haven't posted in forever, its because we have been getting lots done in the house. The floors are done, yes I said it, they are DONE. Thanks to Richard and his dad for spending over 20 hours on their hands and knees getting the Pergo laid. It looks great. We just need to get the new baseboards put on and then we are DONE, well aside from some cosmetic touches; like outlet covers and some new plugs.

The appliances were also installed this week, gotta love new appliances. They all look nice and work great. I can't wait to get to use them. Pics of those coming soon.

Here are our lovely floors..

Molars

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Aleksia finally got her last two two year old molars and I had no idea she was even cutting them. She has always been an easy teether. She now has all her baby teeth.

Another accomplishment with her is that she has been sleeping at night in big girl panties for over 2 weeks now and hasn't had any accidents (she has been accident free during the say for a few months now), way to go baby girl. Well, I guess shes not really a baby anymore. My 'baby' girl is getting so big. She is also as smart as ever. She knows all her letter, numbers, shapes, colors and can recognize a few sight words. She just amazes me everyday.

Getting Closer

Monday, June 29, 2009

Monday, June 29, 2009

We have been busy with the house. We got a lot done this weekend. I mentioned we were originally going to do linoleum tiles in the bathroom but then decided to do ceramic tiles. Boy am I glad we did. They look great, so nice and even and they don't even have grout yet. Richard will be grouting them tonight and also putting the toilets back in. YAY. We are getting closer.

We also were able to borrow a paint sprayer, boy that thing is awesome. Wish we had it about it 3 weeks ago for the inside of the house. We used it to paint the cabinets and baseboards. We got all the cabinets primed and painted. They look good. So glad that is done. We kept putting that off cause we were so DONE painting, but with the sprayer it only took us about 3 hours to do them all. We were also able to paint about 1/2 of the baseboards before we ran out of paint. I swear we have purchased so many gallons of paint for this house. I am so glad we will not have to paint anymore, aside from some touch up here and there. I'm sure while moving stuff in we will create some scuffs.

Let see what else is there to report...Oh, Aleksia's furniture was delivered, it is so cute. She loves it. Her bedroom is going to be the cutest little girl room ever. I am so excited to get her stuff moved in and decorate it a bit more. I am excited to get ALL our stuff in and decorate. I just can't wait to hang all our pictures and make it OURS.

We just have the Pergo to finish and then we can get the appliances in and then we can MOVE IN. I can't wait. Like i said earlier we are getting closer.

Here are some pics of this weeks progress...

Micke Grove

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Thursday, June 25, 2009

We got to meet Cristin, Fiona, Margo and Emma at Micke Grove today. They girls had so much fun and the zoo and the splash pad. Us mom had a good time catching up as well. It sucks that they live so far away, it would be nice to let them play more often.

We got to feed nectar to the Lorikeets, Aleksia though that was the coolest thing. She was so very brave holding that cup of nectar and letting the bird drink from it. All the girls were so good and not scared at all. One of the birds even nibbled on Aleksia's thumb, it made her jump but she didn't cry or complain at all. My brave girl.

Hopefully next time we get together will be at Disneyland, that is where Crisitn and Fiona live. That would be so much fun.

Here is a cute video of them singing...

Happy Father's Day

(pic taken at Easter - but it was a cute one of them two)

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, who has been busting his butt getting our house ready for us. He took today off and I don't blame him. We spent the day shopping and hanging out. We went and ate lunch at his grandparent's house and then went to a furniture store and Lowe's (of course - but we had to buy our tiles). Richard made a great dinner tonight too, shrimp fettuccine alfredo and ceasar salad, I know I know, i should have made the dinner, but he WANTED to. It was so yummy Hunny.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there...

New Mattress

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Saturday, June 20, 2009

We didn't work on the house today, well not really anyway. Richard got the hardest light to hang, hung today and we got some stuff together to take back to Lowe's and Home Depot that we were not going to use. We also decided NOT to do the linoleum tiles in the bathrooms and are going to do ceramic tiles instead. So we ripped up the few i laid the other night (took over 3 hours to lay and only 2 minutes to take them up) and took them back, along with the other stuff. That was it house related.

We went to lunch today, just the two of us, at Chili's...YUM. It was nice getting away and just talking and relaxing. We also went to the Sleep Train next door to look at new mattresses and sure enough we left that store with buying a new King size mattress. We got a Sealy Posturepedic pillow top mattress, we also got 3 new pillows, priced at $129 each all for FREE. We also bought a nice mattresses stain protector cover and got one for Aleksia's new mattress for FREE as well. They are delivering it tomorrow to the new house. Kind of sad though cause we wont get to sleep on it right away as we are still not moved in yet.

Busy Bees

Friday, June 19, 2009

Friday, June 19, 2009

We have been so busy with the house lately. We had a date (yesterday) to get the carpet installed so we have been spending every waking hour getting the rest of the house painted, so we didn't have to after the carpet went down and risk getting it all messed up. The carpet looks GREAT, our house now looks livable. The only thing left to paint is all the cabinet doors and 2 closets downstairs.

We are hopefully starting the Pergo floors downstairs this weekend. Boy what a lovely Father's Day for hubby; spending it working on the house. I can't wait to get this all done and moved in. I am looking forward to decorating.

Here are some pictures of the NEW carpet...

Making Strides

Friday, June 12, 2009

Friday, June 12, 2009

Lots more progress on the house. We got the stucco and drywall done around the new sliding glass door yesterday. Now we just need to do some touch up paint on the drywall part. We are not going to be painting the outside of the house anytime soon so we are just going to have to live with the discolored outside...oh well. We got lots more painting done and really don't have much more to do. Just a lot of edging, the kitchen, Leksi's room and bathroom and our room and bathroom. I painted the cabinets today and did a lot of cleaning. We also need to paint all the doors and the cabinets doors.

I got a cute new bathroom set for A's bathroom on clearance today at Target. It's going to look so cute. Its orange, pink, blue and green stripes and polka dots. The walls are going to be orange. I can't wait to post pictures of the finished rooms.

Here are some more pictures of the house in progress...

Top of the stairs painted.

Cabinets all nicely painted.

New light.

More to come...

House Progress

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

So as you may know we bought a house almost a month ago. It's 4 bedrooms and has 3 bathrooms and is just under 2000 sq ft. It's a great starter home and we got a killer deal. There really was not much that needed to be done but since we needed to paint and replace the carpets we decided to do some other things as well and we are STILL working on it 28 days later. We needed to paint the whole house and have the sliding glass door replaced. The carpets are being installed by Lowe's (as soon as we are done painting) and we are laying all the Pergo in the downstairs as well as the linoleum tiles (bathroom and laundry room) ourselves. We are about 1/2 way done painting and as soon as that is done we will start on the bathroom/laundry floors.

We would be closer to being done painting but we had a bit of a setback in that department when i decided to paint the master bedroom two very dark hideous colors. Now the whole room needs to be primed...again and re-painted. UGH!

We got some new lights hung last night and seeing the front room done (aside from some finishing touches and floors) has a great relief. Here are some pictures of the progress...

The new sliding glass door
Thanks Don for installing it.

New front door color and door handle.

Wall colors.

Downstairs bathroom pre-floor.

Lots more to come...
